GYROSCOPIC PRECESSION FROM A COVARIANT DESCRIPTION FOR WEAK GRAVITATIONAL FIELDS

By means of a covariant description of motion in the solar system post-Newtonian field, a formulation of the observed general precession of a torque free located at distance far from the observer is derived in order to obtain a relativistic theory for the precession of the equinoxes.
